Secure Setting – Access

We kindly ask that patient’s friends and family pre-book visits directly with the nurse in charge of each ward.  This is in an attempt to ensure your visit runs as smoothly as possible and visitors rooms are therefore not double booked.  If you do not pre-book your visit, we cannot guarantee that the visit will go ahead.

Contraband Items

As Surehaven is a low secure service, we must comply with security measures to ensure our patients and staff are as safe as possible.  This means that certain items (for example matches, lighters, glass) are prohibited and cannot be brought into the Hospital by patients or their visitors.  A list of contraband items is detailed in our Contraband Policy which is available upon request.  If you plan to visit with items that you believe may be contraband, please call our reception for advice.
