CLINICAL NURSE SPECIALIST, SUREHAVEN GLASGOW

FULL TIME PERMANENT VACANCY 37.50HRS PW – SALARY CIRCA £40,000 DOE

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated experienced nurse to join the team as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. The successful candidate will have significant experience working in the Secure / Forensic Mental Health setting and have drive and interest to shape and improve services provided by staff to the 21 patients in our Hospital in Glasgow.

The post requires the Clinical Nurse Specialist to have strong interpersonal skills, good clinical assessment, risk assessment and risk management skills and the ability to confidently communicate at a high level both verbally and in writing. The successful applicant will promote excellence in mental health nursing practice through the integration of expert clinical practice, evidence based practice as well as acting as an important resource to staff.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist will be required to make clear autonomous decisions based on an analysis of the complex presenting problems and available treatment options.

Role Responsibility

The Clinical Nurse Specialist will be expected to have the skills to deal with a very broad range of mental health needs of adults with mental disorders who present in complex needs, undertaking pre admission assessments, developing and  supporting  best practise in ongoing care and treatment including, clinical risk assessments and risk management plans.

The role will also include providing:-

  • A programme of Clinical Audit and trend analysis
  • Clinical Supervision to the nursing Staff
  • Root Cause Analysis of Clinical Incidents
  • The continuation and further development of best practise and standards within the service
  • Training and mentoring of the staff group
    On call management support
  • While the role is primarily Monday to Friday 9 to 5 there is an expectation that the Clinical Nurse Specialist will very occasionally work “on shift” in times of clinical need  to monitor and model best practise.

You must hold live registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

 

Staff Nurse (Mental Health) newly qualified and experienced.  The hourly rate is DOE (£13.08 – £15.38).  These vacancies are full time, working day shift and night shifts (12 hour shifts).

Healthcare Support Worker no experience necessary as full induction training given.  The hourly rate is £8.25.  These vacancies are full time, working day shift and night shifts (12 our shifts).
